Bitmain Antminer S19 Control Board

Swapping control boards is a fairly easy process on the S19. It becomes simple once you master the techniques for factory reset, firmware update, and firmware update. If your control board malfunctions or you have an AM Logic control board that you want to use with Vnish firmware. you should swap out your control board. There’s no way to predict what kind of control board you’ll get when you purchase a new machine.

What Type of Control Board Should I Get?

Beagle Bone control boards are compatible with S19j and S19j Pro models. All models work with Xilinx. Only if the model came with an AM logic board should it be replaced; I don’t advise doing so.

Things You Will Need

1. Philips Head Screwdriver
2. New Control Board
3. 8gb Micro SD Card

Before You Start

ASICS should be treated as industrial-grade machinery. Before attempting to remove the old control board, shut down the machine by turning the PDU off or unplugging cables. Also wait for a minute or two for the Power Supply to fully power down after unplugging before attempted to touch anywhere near the bus bars.

Removing Old Control Board

1. Your miner’s top cover needs to be removed in order to expose the control board.
2. Next, unplug the control board’s fans, hashboard ribbon wires, and power supply cables.
3. In order to remove the control board, first unscrew the front plate that is holding it in.

Replacing With New Control Board

1. Slide new control board into place
2. Connect the power supply cords, fans, and ribbon wires.
3. Wait to put top back on if you are installing a Beagle Bone Controller

Powering Up and Flashing Firmware

When you power up the machine, you may have to factory reflash firmware onto your unit, or at least update through the “Firmware Update” function in the machine’s dashboard. Download the firmware for your Antminer S19 series.
